Lubna seeks better relations with UK
Dubai: UAE Minister of Economy Shaikha Lubna Al Qasimi discussed the latest developments in the negotiations between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the European Union (EU) on a free trade agreement with Prince Andrew, Duke of York, on Wednesday.
Prince Andrew is also the representative of the United Kingdom for International Trade and Investment.
Both leaders discussed UAE-UK economic relations as well as the best means to further enhance them.
Shaikha Lubna and Prince Andrew stressed the importance of resolving outstanding issues to pave the way for signing the free trade agreement as early as possible.
Speaking on the latest economic developments in the UAE and the wide investment opportunities in different fields, Shaikha Lubna called upon UK businessmen and investors to benefit from the facilities and the flexibility of UAE's investment laws.
The minister called upon corporates in the UK to expand the scope of their investments in the UAE.
For his part, Prince Andrew hailed the development and renaissance the UAE is witnessing, stressing his country's desire to strengthen economic and investment relations with the UAE.
